2024-2025 Budget & Board Election Information

The 2024-2025 Annual School District Budget Vote and Board Election will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, between the hours of 12:00 - 8:00 pm in the north gym lobby.

Public Budget Hearing:

The public budget hearing for the voters of the District will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, at 6:00 pm in the auditorium for the purpose of presenting the proposed 2024-2025 budget.

Board Vacancy:

The election of a Board of Education member shall be held to fill one (1) at-large vacancy created by the expiration on June 30, 2024, of the term of Board Member Carrie Munsee. The candidate receiving the largest number of votes will be elected to a five-year term of office commencing July 1, 2024, and expiring June 30, 2029. All candidates will be nominated by petition. A petition can be obtained from the District Clerk at the Business Office during the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday or at districtclerk@pancent.org. School Board candidate nominating petitions are due to the District Clerk by 5:00 pm on April 22, 2024.

Military Ballots:

  • Are available to those qualified voters in actual military service, or
  • Will be absent from the district on the day of the election by reason of such service, or
  • A spouse, parent, child, or dependent of a service member accompanying the service member, and they are qualified voters of the same district as the service member.
  • Requests for a military ballot application must be made to the District Clerk at 716-782-4445 or districtclerk@pancent.org
  • Completed applications for military ballots must be received by the district clerk by April 25, 2024.  Ballots will be mailed April 26, 2024, to residents who returned completed applications.

Early Mail and Absentee Ballots:

  • Absentee ballots are automatically mailed to voters whose registration record on file with the county board of elections is marked "permanently disabled".
  • Absentee and Early Mail ballots may be requested by any qualified voter who will be unable to vote in person.
  • Applications for absentee and early mail ballots may be obtained from the District Clerk in the Business Office during the hours of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
  • Completed applications must be received at least (7) days before the District Vote if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter (May 14, 2024), or the day before the District Vote, if the ballot is to be delivered to the voter in person (May 20, 2024).
  • Absentee and early mail ballots must be received at the office of the District Clerk by 5:00 pm on the day of the election.

Qualified Voters:

To be considered a qualified voter of the district, you must be:

  1. A citizen of the United States;
  2. Eighteen (18) years of age or older;
  3. A resident within the Panama School District for a period of not less than thirty (30) days preceding the day of the vote. You must show proof of residence at the polls.
