SNAP Resources for Panama Central School District Families

At Panama Central School District, we recognize that access to healthy, nutritious food is essential to student success. To help support our students and their families, we are sharing information about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and local organizations that provide free assistance with the application process.

What is SNAP?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps eligible individuals and families purchase nutritious food. The program serves a variety of households, including working families, seniors, veterans, and individuals with disabilities.

How SNAP Can Help

  • Monthly Food Benefits: Eligible households receive monthly benefits to purchase approved food items.
  • Easy to Use: Benefits are issued on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card, which can be used like a debit card at participating grocery stores, farmers' markets, and other authorized retailers.
  • Based on Household Needs: Eligibility and benefit amounts are determined by household size, income, and certain allowable expenses.
